Error by file opening alessandra tozzi1  2025-03-14 04:10

Hello Skyline Team

I received the following warning message when trying to open the file:

Failure opening //mac\Home\Desktop\Griffith University\Milk project\Data Analysis\Experiment 1\N-Glycans\Skyline MAIN LIST revised, without samples.sky.
The file contains an error on line 1111 at column 16

Is it possible to restore the file? I uploaded it.

Thank you in advance.

Beste regards,

Alessandra Tozzi

Here is a fixed copy of that file.
You should be able to replace the file that you have with this one and then you should be able to open the Skyline document without error.
You will probably get a warning message that the audit log does not match the document. You can safely ignore that warning.

After you successfully open your Skyline document, it would be helpful if you could send us your full Skyline document.
In Skyline you can use the menu item:
File > Share
to create a .zip file containing your Skyline document and supporting files including the audit log.

If we could see that .zip file it might help us figure out how to fix the bug in Skyline which got you into this state.
For some reason Skyline was confused about what the product m/z of the transition in last three molecules in your document should be.
The m/z value that Skyline thought the transition had when Skyline saved the document was different from the value that it had when Skyline did the calculations from scratch.

I see actually that you ran into this same error last summer with Skyline 23.1:

Hopefully when we see your .sky.zip file this time we will make more progress on fixing this bug.
