Can I install skyline on Microsoft windows server edition

Can I install skyline on Microsoft windows server edition robert.rparker  2025-01-10 08:13
 

I am running into an error whilst trying to install onto our windows server. I was wondering if it possble to run Skyline on such an operating system?

That error message says "See the setup log file..."

It looks like it really is having trouble downloading the following file:
https://skyline.gs.washington.edu/software/Skyline-release-64_24_1/Skyline.application

One thing that you could try is to go to that URL in a web browser. You might get a more helpful error message.

You might have better results with the "unplugged" installer:
https://skyline.ms/wiki/home/software/Skyline/page.view?name=install-64-disconnected_23_1

It does not look like the problem has to do with .Net Framework.
Skyline does require .Net Framework at least version 4.7.2 which means that you would want the latest version 4.8 to be installed.
However, the log does not give any indication that .Net Framework is missing. I think it really was unable to download
https://skyline.gs.washington.edu/software/Skyline-release-64_24_1/Skyline.application
which could be caused by a firewall issue or something else.
