Number format bug jrenders  2021-02-10 12:24

Hi all,
Apologies if this is the wrong place to report a bug - I looked and was not authorized to add a new "issue" to the /home/issues page.

The issue is regarding number formats in the document grid. Previously, these number format designations would remain active until you changed the selected report. However, recently skyline began to reset all number formats every time the current report was filtered in any way.

As an example, I often change the "Calculated Concentration" from scientific to "#,###.##" to show commas at the thousands place and two digits after the decimal. Staying on this same report, if I search for a molecule by typing into the "Find:" text box above the table, the number formats all reset.

This is a new reaction and (I'm pretty sure) was not an intentional change since it is pretty inconvenient for the user. I have attached my .zip so you can see. I am running the most recent version of skyline daily.

Let me know if you need more info or if I should log this somewhere else. Thanks!

Thanks for reporting this bug. I will try to fix it in the next update of Skyline-Daily.

This bug got accidentally introduced as part of changes to the document grid for the new clustered heat map feature.
You can read more about this new feature here:
https://skyline.ms/wiki/home/software/Skyline/page.view?name=HierarchicalClustering

The behavior used to be that Skyline would remember the formats that you had applied until you did something that changed the set of columns that you were looking at. As a result of some other code changes, Skyline started thinking that the columns were always different.

I am sure this will be straightforward to fix so I would expect to see the fix in the next update of Skyline-Daily.

Thanks,
-- Nick

Remember that you can always roll back to your previously installed version by going to "Settings > Apps and Features" in Windows, selecting Skyline-daily, and clicking the Uninstall button. Before anything happens to your installation, you will be presented with a form that gives you the choices:
- Restore the application to its previous state.
- Remove the application from this computer.

You can always cancel from this form and nothing will change. Or you can choose to revert to the previous state, if your most recent update introduced a bug like this.

But, as Nick suggests, we will hopefully release a fix for this issue soon. Thanks for testing our latest changes and reporting this issue.
