We just got a request to be able to expand all Proteins/Peptides/Precursors for a multiple selection, because I limited that feature on Edit > Exand All to documents with less than 10,000 transitions. If we put it on the right-click menu, then we can limit it to any selection with less than 10,000 transitions.

Probably, we should also give some thought to the level of expansion. i.e. Expand All Proteins when there are 10,000 transitions could be fine if there are say 10 transitions (3 precursors and 7 fragments) per peptide and 2 precursors per peptide. That would be only 500 new peptide nodes added to the tree.

So, even for Edit > Expand All, we are probably being too strict with all but Expand All > Precursors.

How about this as a starter feature, Alex?

Haven't managed to get this done. Alex is no longer doing development work for us.

This just got requested again by Thermo. Right-click > Expand All > Proteins,Peptides,Precursors would be nice. Another thing that might be nice is to make Skyline ask when the main menu Edit > Expand All menu items are used when:
1. There is a multiple selection (Selection or All)
2. The document contains too many elements. We currently just show an error in this case, but we could ask whether to expand the current selection, and if it is only one element tell the user this will work with multiple selection.
