There has been a fair amount of confusion around the current results UI where the contents of the replicates list are displayed in a combo box, and the only way to delete anything from the list is to use the Remove Results menu item in the Edit menu.

A splitter should be added to the tree view pane, to make the results a full-blown list, rather than a combo. Selection in the list would still activate the selected pane, and selection would change with pane activation (same as the combo). The pane would just be more obvious, and I could also just allow a select and delete metaphor to remove results from the document. (Question: Should we also show the list of files/samples for a multi-file replicate, and allow files to be removed? i.e. a tree view instead of a list)

Finally, I could still make it so that sizing the splitter small enough would cause it to be replaced with the combo, and the combo would have a button next to it to bring back the list view. For when the user might just want to reduce screen real-estate allocated to choosing replicates.
