Installation problem annam wasynczuk  2026-03-23 07:29

Hello,
I can not install the software on the professing computers in my lab. The pop-up window says to contact the vendor.

If you push that "Details..." button it will open up a text editor with more information about what went wrong.
If you send us that file we will be able to give you better advice about how to get past this error.

Some people who are unable to use the regular installer have had more success with the "Unplugged installer":

After you send us the text file with the details of what went wrong we will probably be able to give you better instructions.

The error that you are getting is:
Deployment and application do not have matching security zones.

When you download the .zip file for the "unplugged" installer, Windows remembers that the .zip file was downloaded from the internet and should not be trusted.
If you use a program such as 7-zip.exe to unzip the zip file, then there will be no problem because 7-zip happily creates files which do not remember that they came from the Internet.
However, if you want to use Windows Explorer to unzip the zip file, you have to first right-click on the .zip file and choose "Properties" and then check the checkbox next to "Unblock" (it's towards the bottom of the Properties window near some text about how the file was downloaded from the internet).
There's some more information about that here:

It looks like you are trying to install Skyline 24.1 using the unplugged installer. The current version of Skyline is 26.1. We always recommend using the latest version of Skyline unless you are trying to reproduce results from earlier experiments.
