There is no way to see the colors in the Document Grid, and there is no way to export or import those values.
The Skyline user interface allows you to assign colors to the things in the Targets tree using the "Edit Note" menu item. You are only allowed to choose Orange, Brown, Pink, Yellow, Bright Green, Green, Bright Blue, Blue, Black or Purple.
What are you using those colors for? Is that short list of colors sufficient for your needs, or would you like us to make it so you can choose any color?
Would you want to see the color names (e.g. "Brown") in the Document Grid, or would you want it presented in some other way such as with the red, green, and blue quantities.
I think a big part of the reason that Skyline does not have support for this is that we haven't really been able to envision how someone would use this.

Hi Nick,
Thank you for your response.
I am using the color options in the small molecule interface to annotate peaks, for example, to indicate the typical occurrence of metabolites in samples and to describe peak shapes. It would be very helpful to assign color labels, such as marking peaks that consistently occur in plasma in green, or using red to indicate a biomarker that is only present in a specific disease.
I work with a large dataset in a metabolomics setting, containing approximately 300 precursors/molecules. I manage this dataset in an Excel file, where I also keep my notes. For each new batch, I import the data from this Excel list.
The 10 colors you already provide would be sufficient for my needs. Therefore, having an additional column next to “Molecule Note”, for example, “Molecule Note Color” would be very useful.
Best regards,
