Problems starting MsStats as external tool from skyline tobias.kockmann  2014-03-07 07:00

Hi Brendan,

I installed MsStats from the tool store and encountered the following problem:

The execution of MsStats is prohibited because cmd is started with a corrupted path. Here is the output from the immediate window:

'\\vmware-host\Shared Folders\Documents\skyline\20140217_tobiasko'
CMD.EXE was started with the above path as the current directory.
UNC paths are not supported. Defaulting to Windows directory.
The system cannot find the path specified.

I realized that this is the same path which gets displayed as soon as I execute the File->Open. The current skyline doc path is different. Opening cmd manually drops me at my home in C:\Users\<myAccount>

I use Skyline x64 2.5.0. on win7 x64 as guest OS in VMware Fusion

Best,
Tobi

...after a restart of win7 the immediate window message simplified to:

"The system cannot find the path specified."

Hi,

I do have the same problem, I could install MSstats without any problems, and when I want to run the external tool, I get a info in the immediate window:

"The system cannot find the path specified".

Do you have any suggestions for me how I can fix that problem?

BR, Kathrin

This is an old thread but I figured I would put my solution here in case it helps anyone.

This is most likely a problem with where your files are located. If they are located in a network drive (which can also happen ifyou are using a virtual machine with shared folders with the host) then R wont map to it. The easiest workaround is to move the skyline document file to a local folder in Windows.

And in case you wonder, this can be done without having to move all raw files, as described here. https://skyline.ms/announcements/home/support/thread.view?rowId=37598
