Import peptide results with .msf and .pdresult files fails- Skyline-daily (64-bit) 25.1.1.147 Antrix Jain  2025-08-04 08:44

Cannot import result files (.msf or .pdresult) from PD. The software closes automatically after giving an error- "Error getting score type for this file".
Skyline-daily v24 has no issue.

Can you send us your files?
I am not sure exactly which files we would need to reproduce this problem, but you can package everything up in a .zip file and upload it here:

I am not seeing any error like that.

Can you post a screenshot of what the error looks like?

By the way, 25.1.1.147 is a few months old. The latest version is 25.1.1.206 which was released a couple of weeks ago.
I don't think anything has changed recently in anything that might affect the sort of errors you are describing.

Screenshot of error.
Skyline (25.1.0.142) and daily (25.1.1.206) has the same issue. When I try to import the results in v24, it seems to be working.

Have you run into this error on any other computers?
The error code "-1073741701" might be "C000007B" which is STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT.
That might mean that a .dll file on the computer is corrupted. It's hard to predict which file that might be.

You might be able to use the Windows Event Viewer to figure out which file is causing this problem.

If you are seeing this error on multiple computers then there might be something for us to investigate.
But if you are only seeing this error on a single computer then the way to solve it would involve things like installing all of the possible updates for Windows and if that does not work reinstalling Windows.

Skyline support for Windows 7 ended two years ago.
We have expected things would continue to work for a while, but we are not able to fix any bugs that do come up.

You can find the official Skyline system requirements here:
