Sciex OS (6500+) CE optimization method export error AL24851  2024-08-12 23:07

Hello Team Skyline,

I am currently trying to export CE optimizing methods for 2x Sciex Qtrap systems (6500+). Both systems got Skyline installed on their own individual PCs. When I try to export CE optimizing method using Skyline, I am getting two different errors from each Skyline (please find attached). I have fed in the same transition list, both have the same transition settings, and I selected the same export method settings. Any idea on how to fix this? FYI, I do not have any problem exporting them as transition lists.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Kind regards,
Alex

It looks like you are getting two different errors:
Experiment does not have MRMModeProperty
and:
MsMethodLoadResponse failure

I do not have any information about what either of those error messages might mean.
My guess would be that these error messages have something to do with the template file that you have specified in the "Export method" dialog.

If you would like, you could send us your Skyline document and your template file and we could try to reproduce the error that you are running into. It is possible that we might be able to figure out what is going wrong.

In Skyline you can use the menu item:
File > Share
to create a .zip file containing your Skyline document and supporting files including extracted chromatograms.

If that .zip file and your template file are less than 50MB you can attach them to this support request.
You can always upload larger files here:
https://skyline.ms/files.url

It would also be helpful if you could include a screenshot of the "Export Report" dialog so that we can see what settings you are using.

Hello Nick,

Thanks a lot for your prompt response.

I agree- I got a feeling that it might be the template file thing, or Sciex OS. We tried the exact same procedures with Waters QQQ and everything worked fine.

I have attached Skyline documents, input transition list that I used for the trial, and template files that I used to export method for both of our instruments (R2D2 and C3PO). Please note that both instruments are on different Sciex OS versions- R2D2- v 3.1.6.44, C3PO- v 3.0.0.3339. R2D2 is the one having MsMethodLoadResponse failure, and C3PO with Experiment does not have MRMModeProperty.

Please let us know if you require any additional info.

Kind regards,
Alex

Hello again,

I just found this on Sciex web (https://sciex.com/support/knowledge-base-articles/why-can-a-sciex-os-method-not-be-exported-from-skyline-software_en_us). Maybe it is impossible to export method from Skyline into Sciex OS format?

Kind regards,
Alex

Yes, you can use the menu item:
File > Export > Transition List
to export a CSV file that you will be able to use with your Sciex instrument.

If you run into any troubles when using "File > Export > Transition List" it is very easy for us to help you.
Problems with "File > Export > Method" are much harder for us to debug because we have to find a computer that has the correct instrument vendor software installed on it, and that usually takes a few weeks.

But, if you ever have any questions about "File > Export > Transition List" (for SRM) or "File > Export > Isolation List" (for PRM or DIA) then we can usually answer them much faster.
