Hello,

I have been trying to upload the transition list attached onto molecular interface of Skyline.
It only gives me an option to do Ctrl-V for loading the transition list.
Whenever I try to upload it that way, it gives me the following error message.
"Data columns not found in first line"

For some reason, the data columns are not recognized by the software.

Could you please let me know how I can go about resolving this issue?

It sounds like you have copied the Excel file itself from something like Windows Explorer onto the clipboard and are pasting that into Skyline. Unfortunately, Skyline does not actually understand the file format of an Excel file.

What you should do is open the spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel, select the cells with your transition list and then copy that.
When you copy data from Excel in that way, what will be placed on the Clipboard is the text from the cells separated by tabs and newlines.

Alternatively, you could use Excel to save the spreadsheet as a comma-separated-value (.csv) file and then bring it into Skyline using the "File > Import > Transition List" menu item.
