Pressure trace - it is there but how to export it? henrik molina  2023-11-03 11:11

I am aware that I can plot pressure traces (at least from a IQX/Vanquish setup). For small molecule analysis this can be very useful - mainly for QC-ing runs....and indeed, the feature is listed under QC: Transitions->QC->Pump Pressure.
Is there a way to have, for example minimum and maximum pressures/values written to the (Skyline) Report ? I believe I have tried all options but with no luck.
Example of pressure trace attached (not sure about the shown pressure units ).

cheers, henrik

As far as I know, there is no way to the data for those chromatograms directly from Skyline.
If you upload your Skyline document to Panorama (www.panoramaweb.org) I believe it is possible to see that sort of data and potentially export it.
I believe useful stuff can be done with the pressure trace chromatograms in an app called "AutoQC".
AutoQC will watch a folder on your instrument computer, import the results into a Skyline document and automatically upload those documents to a folder on Panorama.
I do not know exactly how to use AutoQC but I believe it can give you some reports showing the behavior of the pressure traces between instrument runs.

Hi Nick,

I do not think I was clear. The pressure trace data IS indeed from Skyline-Daily (v 23.1.1.268).
In my naivety I just thought that a minimum and a maximum value could be passed out in the report.

cheers, henrik

Yes, even though Skyline shows you the pressure trace chromatogram, the rest of the features that you might expect to exist such as being able to export those values have not yet been implemented.
Our website, panoramaweb.org, does have more pressure-trace related features. For this reason, if you upload your Skyline document to Panorama, you can do more interesting things with the pressure traces.

Here is some information about pressure traces on Panorama:
https://www.labkey.org/Documentation/wiki-page.view?name=premPanoConfigMetrics#trace

Here is some information about the AutoQC app:

By the way, if you are looking at a chromatogram in Skyline and you want to see the list of numbers which are being graphed, you can right-click on the chromatogram and choose "Copy Data" and then paste the data into something like Microsoft Excel.
