Error to install skyline daily Aline  2021-07-23 07:47

I'm trying to install in a windows 10 computer and I'm getting this error:

" Setup has detected that the file 'C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\VSDA0E1.tmp\DotNetFX472\NDP472-KB4054531-Web.exe' has changed since it was initially published.

See the setup log file located at 'C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\VSDA0E1.tmp\install.log' for more information."

I have never heard of anyone running into that particular error. It looks like the error might be happening while you are trying to install Microsoft .Net Framework Runtime version 4.72, which is one of the prerequisites which automatically get installed before Skyline gets installed.

You might have better luck if you install Microsoft .Net Framework Runtime yourself.
You can install .Net Framework Runtime from here:
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework

I would recommend that you install the latest .Net Framework Runtime which is version 4.8.
Any 4.x .Net Framework version which is greater than 4.72 will work.

After you have installed a .Net Framework, you should try installing Skyline again, and it might work.

If you are still having troubles installing Skyline you should send us the "install.log" file that your error messages are referring to.

Hi Nick,

Thank you for the answer. I have manually installed the .Net 4.8 but still got same error. Please see the complete log attached.

Thanks again,
Aline

Here are some more things to try

1. Try installing .Net Framework 4.72. I might have been mistaken about 4.8 being sufficient, and maybe it really is necessary to install that exact version of the .Net Framework Runtime. Also, you might get a more helpful error message.
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/net472
After you have installed .Net Framework 4.72, you might be able to successfully install Skyline normally.

2. Try installing the "unplugged" version of Skyline.
You can install that from here:
https://skyline.ms/wiki/home/software/Skyline/page.view?name=install-64-disconnected_21_1
For the unplugged installer, you download a .zip file. I recommend that you right-click on the .zip file that you downloaded, and then choose "Properties", and then check the "Unblock" checkbox on the Properties dialog. After that, you can extract the files from the .zip and run "setup.exe" which was extracted from the zip.
