Export analysed results in report csv files - separate precursors in individual tabs/sheets elisabeth janssen10128  2018-04-25 02:46

Hello,
Is there a way to export the data so that the file when opened in Excel would create a tab (=Excel Sheet) for each precursor in the transition list?

Say, I have 40 peptide precursors in my transition list and I read in 30 data files. It would be great to export the data so that I get 40 tab/sheets in Excel, one for each precursor, and each tab the information for this precursor is listed for all 30 results/data files.

Currently, we do that manually in Excel or R. If this would be a “simple” feature to include, it would be quite handy. Or is it already possible and I missed the option?

Thanks,
Lilli

Unfortunately, there is no such feature in Skyline yet. We do not even export directly to Excel spreadsheet format, but instead just comma separated value (CSV), which does not support defining separate sheets. We may someday support exporting directly to Excel spreadsheet format, but for now, you will need to find another way. I would expect using R to provide the least "manual" way of achieving the conversion, or an Excel macro. But, someone on your team is going to need to provide a bit of data transformation code (in R or Excel) to get from the format Skyline exports to the format you are hoping for.

Sorry, we don't have a simpler solution. Thanks for posting your question to the support board.
