Cannot open files made with previous Skyline daily Will Thompson  2017-08-15 07:53

Hi Brendan and team. Upgraded to the latest daily and don't appear to be able to open skyline documents from the previous daily, example attached. Help! I guess I need to 'downgrade' to previous daily.

Cheers

Hi Will,

Let me see what I can do...

Thanks

Sorry, Brian, I should have given you the error message. It says "Failure opening [filepath].sky. The file contains an error on line 923 at column 10. unable to locate precursor calculator for isotope label type heavy and mods (null)." I guess the first step is to see if you also cannot open the file?

Thanks

I have reproduced the error, and this message appears to be related to something Brian was trying to track down. So, this may help him to understand when this case happens in the wild.

Anyway, we should have everything we need. Thanks for reporting it. Next Skyline-daily should solve the problem. You can rollback by uninstalling and then choosing the previous version when asked whether to remove Skyline-daily entirely or revert to the previous version.

Hi Will,

Thanks for providing the file - it's a simple fix for reading previous-generation small molecule documents with adducts that are implied in the chemical formulas rather than explicitly declared, and will be in the next Skyline-Daily.

Downgrading to previous daily manages to open files again, also.

Thanks
