Skyline validation (IQ/OQ) thomas  2015-02-26 02:00

Dear Skyline team, we run Skyline version 2.6.0.7176 (64-bit) in a windows 7 environment and use it for PRM experiments. We are currently performing targeted proteomics workflow method validations. In that frame I would like to ask if there is a procedure available to validate (installation and operation qualification) the Skyline software itself. Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Thomas

Hi Thomas,
To be honest, we have not thought a great deal about this. Though, I am told a collaborator in a CLIA lab has created a validation process for his use of Skyline.

In the fairly near future, we are thinking it would not be hard to extend our own automated test suite, which tests very thoroughly every aspect of Skyline, to run against any installation to insure the installation functions as it did for the developer who made the release.

On the other hand, you might still want your own validation procedure to verify that a new installation of a different version of Skyline continues to function as you need it to. But, in the future you should be able to lock down on a specific version for a set of experiments and have Skyline validate any new installations of that version for you.

Interested in your feedback on this plan, and anything more you can tell us about what you would need with respect to software installation validation.

Thanks for posting to the support board, and for using Skyline.

Hi Brendan,

I am also interested in learning about procedure to potentially validate the skyline software since this question was asked 7 years ago. Has there been any significant update to the answer you will give to the question of IQ/OQ of skyline?

Thanks
