At this point, Skyline only respects the Explicit Retention Time, making it the Predicted RT when Transition Settings - Full-Scan is set to "Use only scans within [N] minutes of predicted RT", and it completely ignores Explicit Retention Time Window which is only used for exporting scheduled SRM and PRM methods.

However, we have now had several requests to be able to use Explicit Retention Time Window to limit chromatogram extraction, as we would limit chromatogram collection in a scheduled method.

Should we just make this the meaning of the option, even though it conflicts with the [N] minutes text?
Should we have a 4th option that simply uses the scheduling windows, as if we had exported a scheduled method? (This seemed overly complicated and demanding chromatogram extraction use cases to understand our scheduling set-up, which is why we have what we have, but apparently one size fits all chromatogram extraction is not always enough to satisfy users.)

Some other great solution?

This work is nominally complete, in PR 633 / branch Skyline/work/20190906_strict_explicit_RT. Skyline now ignores any proposed peak (from Crawdad) that lies outside the explicit RT window when available.
