In the SRM course, several people ended up feeling they had succeeded in installing MSstats, but then finding that when they tried to run it, the got an error about not being able to even run R.exe. Many of these turned out to be on foreign language systems, and were fixed by installing R to C:\, but this took a lot of support to get to. It would be much better, if we could test R.exe immediately after what appears to be successful installation to make sure that R.exe can actually be run before trying to run it, and if that fails both show a message box about the problem and suggesting solutions like uninstall/reinstall and reinstall to C:\, and then mark the program as not runnable and show this error any time a tool that depends on it is attempted to run.

I guess we'll see how things go at the upcoming course in Barcelona. Haven't heard a lot about this lately.
