Cannot install Bo An  2023-05-23 21:26

Hello, I got trouble to install the software on my computer. I saw error when the "setup.exe" tried to download the installer. Is there a link or measurement that I can manually download the installer to install, rather than rely on setup.exe to download? Many thanks.

You might have better luck with the "Unplugged" installer:
https://skyline.ms/wiki/home/software/Skyline/page.view?name=install-64-disconnected_22_2

With the unplugged installer you download a .zip file, unzip it, and then run the setup.exe that is in there.
(If you are unable to run the setup.exe that is in there, you can also just run the Skyline.exe which will be in one of the subfolders of what you unzip, but it's a little better if you run "setup.exe" since that will add something to your Start menu to launch Skyline).

By the way, if you give us more information about the error you were getting with setup.exe we might be able to help.

Is there a unplugged Skyline Daily?

Many thanks.

Yes, there's an unplugged Skyline-daily:
https://skyline.ms/wiki/home/software/Skyline/daily/page.view?name=install-disconnected-64

The error that you are getting is:
 URLDownloadToCacheFile failed with HRESULT '-2146697208'
Error: An error occurred trying to download 'https://skyline.gs.washington.edu/software/Skyline-daily13-64/Skyline-daily.application'.

Several people have run into that error over the past few years. We think that the error has something to do with networking or firewall settings.
Here is a support request from last year where I gave a couple of suggestions about how to deal with this error, but I think the only thing that worked was using the unplugged installer:
