wiff2 file from Sciex Echo MS fails to import to skyline michelle robinson  2020-10-26 12:05

Hi Brendan,
I'm unable to import MRM data generated on the Sciex Echo MS into skyline (wiff2 file format). I am using Skyline daily. The error message says, "[Experiment2ImpI::ctor()] Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Thanks for your assistance,
Michelle

Michelle,

Can you send us your .wiff2 file? (I am not sure whether wiff2 has multiple files with it the way that .wiff.scan does, but, if there are, you should send them too).

Files which are less than 50MB can be attached to this support request.

You can upload larger files here:
https://skyline.ms/files.url

Thanks Nick. See attached. There should be three files.

Hi Michelle,

Does that file open with SciexOS? It's very small (even for MRM) and odd in that the .wiff.scan file is smaller than the .wiff2: usually the .scan is much bigger. Then again this is probably the first WIFF2 file I've seen from MRM so maybe I shouldn't expect to see the same relationship as I do for QTOF WIFF2s.

When we open it with the latest Sciex API it has an error just trying to get the samples from the file. I could report it to Sciex but want to make sure it's not obviously corrupt first.

Yes, the file opens with SciexOS. I'm new to using the Sciex, so I can't really comment on whether or not the file sizes are as expected.
