Problem installing Skyline Daily joel federspiel  2019-10-09

Hello Skyline team,

I have one computer that is refusing to install Skyline Daily (19.1.1.248). We have used daily on this computer routinely in the past, but at some point recently the software was removed. When I try to install it again, I get the attached error and am unable to complete the install. This computer is running Windows 7 Professional.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am happy to provide any other information that would be helpful.

Thanks,

Joel

The error that you are getting is "ArgumentException" and it's coming from something called "CorLaunchApplication".

You might find some helpful information on the "Recovering from a broken installation" page.
https://skyline.ms/wiki/home/software/Skyline/page.view?name=tip_recover_install

There are also a lot of pages on the Web that say that the way to fix this error is to delete some things from your AppData folder.

You can find some information about that here:
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/4048d6a6-11f6-4627-b2ca-4725e9812350/clickonce-deployment-is-not-working-need-help?forum=winformssetup

This person is saying that you should delete everything under "AppData/Local/Apps/2.0" which does not sound like a safe thing to do.

The person on this page describes a more surgical way of deciding which folders to delete:

Hope this helps,
