Problem with 4.1.1.11798 cannot open existing projects or load transitions erowland  2018-02-18 11:51

Hi there,

I just downloaded the new version of Skyline daily. (v4.1.1.11798)and ran into a few problems. I cannot open existing projects. i tried to load a transition list and that failed too. I'll attach a word doc with the error details.

Error loading .sky file: The file contains and error on line 45 at column 10 (details attached)

I am running windows 10.

Thanks very much,

Elden

Hi Elden,
This seems to indicate a dependency issue with "pwiz_data_cli.dll", which is our ProteoWizard data reader DLL, providing all access to raw mass spec data.

I just did my first clean installation of this version onto a new system and had no issues testing data import.

I suppose your case may also indicate some interaction with ion mobility and/or small molecules, which I have not hit yet.

Can you upload your document to the following link?

http://skyline.ms/files.url

This will allow me to more easily check whether I can open it.

If I can, then we can begin to look at why you appear to be missing a dependency of pwiz_data_cli.dll, while I appear to be able to use it without issues.

Hi Brenden,

I just uploaded two docs that I could not open with the new version. One is a small molecule doc but the other is a normal peptide doc.

thanks for your help,

Elden

Hmm... It sees that I cannot save a new document either (see below). Maybe I need to perform a fresh install?

Failed writing to C:\Users\Decs\test.sky
