Food Allergy Research and Resource Program (https://farrp.unl.edu) Food Allergen Proteomics Research Scientist POSITION DESCRIPTION: Operate, supervise, and conduct routine maintenance on high-resolution LC-MS/MS instrument. Generate and monitor instrument performance data and serve as primary manager of coordination with instrument vendor service engineers. Develop and implement standardized and automated protocols for food allergen MS methods and data analysis for internal and external use. Act as direct contact person with industrial clients (outside funding sources) and research collaborators, in collaboration with project PIs. Participate in research communication through conference presentations, primary manuscript drafting for individually led projects, and co-author contributions on collaborative projects. Oversee all aspects of laboratory management in collaboration with PIs, including safety monitoring and training, mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students (e.g., as a resource for experimental design planning and statistical analysis assistance). Assist students and workers in the development of mass spectrometry protocols needed for their experiments. Maintain laboratory compliance with safety requirements and SOPs.
