We are looking to hire a talented and motivated scientist for our metabolomics/lipidomics platform, within the proteomics resource center, at Rockefeller University. Position is available ASAP. The Rockefeller University, located at the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is a world-renowned center for research and graduate education in the biomedical sciences. We seek an enthusiastic and diligent colleague to join the Proteomics Resource Center (http://proteomics.rockefeller.edu/). The position is focused on small molecule applications of analytical chemistry and mass spectrometry. The position is an excellent opportunity to apply mass spectrometry-based analytical chemistry to exciting projects, spanning a wide range of sample and project types. Responsibilities Maintaining and operating high-flow LC-MS/MS (Q-Exactive Plus), GCMS (Agilent Intuvo) and related equipment Who you are Bachelor’s degree in science and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred About the Proteomics Resource Center (PRC) Scientists at the PRC work and collaborate on a wide variety of projects with Rockefeller investigators as well as with scientists from not-for-profit institutions. Projects range from analysis of small molecules and metabolites to PTM analysis of thousands of proteins. Examples of projects include nucleoside and amino acid quantitation, TCA cycle intermediates, analysis of secreted mosquito peptides, and quantitative profiling of exosomes. The PRC operates in a detail-oriented style and addresses projects individually; this allows the scientists of the Center to engage with many researchers and tackle a broad range of research areas. A Research Support Specialist at the PRC will be able to address biological projects using both metabolomics and proteomics mass spectrometry based strategies. The position is ideal for a scientist with hands-on LC-MS/MS and GCMS experience who has or wishes to gain additional experience in a very exciting and high-impact scientific environment.
