The Integrative Omics group within the Biological Sciences Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking an outstanding Post-Doctoral candidate to join our multi-disciplinary team focusing on mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics analyses. The research areas include the development of quantitative methodologies for precise protein and posttranslational modification measurements, and corresponding large-scale applications in biofluids, cell, or tissue specimens towards clinical and translational research in cancer. The Integrative Omics group also presents a diverse array of opportunities ranging from analytical biochemistry, MS instrumentation, multi-omics measurements, single cell proteomics, bioinformatics, and biomedical applications. The preferred candidate would have a Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, chemistry, clinical chemistry, or closely related fields. Although not required, hands-on experience in mass spectrometry, proteomics, LC separations, posttranslational modifications, and data analysis will be considered as a plus. Efforts will include methods development, sample preparation and separation methods for enhancing reproducibility and sensitivity, and applications of specific candidate verifications in different sample types. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will assist, and possibly lead, in the preparation and presentation of papers, posters, reports, etc. Additionally, he/she will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook, adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations, and follow security requirements as well as directorate/group policies.
Strong organization and communication skills are needed to work efficiently in a team environment and to effectively demonstrate project success.
