Summary of Open Positions:
The Proteomics Core Facility at Northwestern University, has an opening available for highly qualified, highly motivated applicants for the position of Proteomics Specialist. The Proteomics Core is a recharge facility within the Proteomics Center of Excellence (PCE) serving regional, national and worldwide researchers for their proteomics needs. The position is available for immediate start.

Research Environment:
Successful applicants for these positions will be expected to work well as both a leader and a follower in a team environment and demonstrate the ability to work diligently and independently toward tangible, hypothesis-driven or discovery research goals on multiple biomedical projects that users and collaborators wish to achieve. The Proteomics Specialist will participate in the design and execution of research plans under the direction of the Proteomics Core director. We are currently looking for staff with experience in quantitative proteomics, phosphoproteomics, targeted proteomics (SRM/MRM), X-linking MS, Ion Mobility MS, HDX-MS, and/or Top-Down proteomics. Prior experience in one or more of these techniques is strongly preferred, but not required for highly qualified applicants. If selected for this position, you will immediately be immersed into a dynamic research environment with >6 high-end mass spectrometers and all of the support equipment that one would need to be successful. In addition to mass spectrometers, successful applicants will be familiar with multidimensional liquid chromatography, bioinformatics, and data processing pipeline. Prior knowledge in Mascot, Scaffold, MaxQuant, Perseus, Skyline, and/or statistical analysis is strongly preferred. The Proteomics Specialist will analyze data and present interpretations to users/collaborators as well as prepare manuscripts for collaborative publications in peer-reviewed journals. The Proteomics Specialist will be expected to contribute to report writing within the research center.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate with 0-5+ years’ experience;
Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills;
Strong written and verbal communication skills
