The Opportunity

Denali Therapeutics is seeking a Scientist in the Proteomics group focused on mass spectrometry based assays for preclinical and clinical studies supporting therapeutic discovery and development. Working in close collaboration with colleagues in Therapeutic Discovery, Translational Sciences, Development Sciences, and Clinical Development, the candidate will help to build qualitative and quantitative multiplexed peptide assays. This will include working closely with pathway and project scientists to identify targets of interest, build in silico models to identify proper analytes, and build optimized assays to measure the aforementioned analytes in a robust manner. The candidate will interact with scientists across the Company to lead discussions around implementation of quantitative proteomics in support of ongoing research and development projects. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and work well in a highly collaborative team environment.


Interact with pathway teams to collate and build highly multiplexed qualitative and quantitative peptide LCMS assays to elucidate significant changes in in vitro and in vivo models
Build upon existing targeted assays to improve coverage of relevant biomarkers for clinical and nonclinical samples
Leverage internal and external resources to provide high impact pathway data in collaboration with other -omic platforms
Create synergies between multiple -omic datasets and assays to better understand complex biological questions

The successful candidate will have a PhD with 0-3 or BS/MS degree with 5-7 years industry experience developing quantitative proteomic assays for pharmacodynamic endpoints in complex matrices.
Familiarity with proteomics raw data processing, interpretation, and visualization
Familiarity with multiple vendor instrument software as well as the Skyline, Panorama, and Labkey platforms
Ability to create in silico models of peptides for targeted assays
Experience with LCMS method development and qualification
Understanding of proteomic best lab practices for sample handling and preparation
Ability to deliver complex results to teams of diverse scientific backgrounds
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively on cross-functional projects teams
Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills
