General Purpose:
The MS & Proteomics Resource at Yale has an opening for a M&P level mass spectrometrist with hands on expertise in mass spectrometry and proteomics. The successful candidate will work in a resource laboratory along-side other Biotechnology Associates dedicated to helping a multitude of investigators use MS analyses to advance their proteomics research. The Resource’s mission is to provide investigators of all disciplines (chemical, biological, clinical, etc.) with access to the most advanced mass spectrometry based biotechnologies through efficient and cost-effective proteomics and small molecule services. These technologies are developed and implemented with a broad spectrum of mass spectrometry based techniques for protein/peptide/small molecule chemistries to separate, characterize, profile, and quantify analytes from complex biological samples. The Resource is superbly equipped for this purpose with 5 state-of-the-art MS systems that are utilized for a wide range of biotechnologies.

Required Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or other related discipline and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Qualifications:
• Thorough understanding of mass spectrometry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative proteomics, protein chemistry and proteomics sample handling.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills..
• Ability to work with and lead multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of major licensed proteomics software.
• Preferred Education and Experience: PhD level in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry.
