Our Research Laboratories is seeking to recruit an experienced mass spectrometry scientist with broad experience in Proteomics applications to join the Protein Sciences Department in South San Francisco, CA.

The position will be hands-on at the bench and will report to the mass spectrometry group leader.

Responsibilities:
Design and perform proteomics-based experiments, including phospho-proteomics, labeled and label-free differential protein expression, and targeted protein quantification.
Sample preparation for proteomics analysis including protein extraction, immunoprecipitation, proteolytic digestion, and sample clean-up prior to MS analysis.
Perform analytical routines for Tandem liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LCMSMS) systems maintenance, including calibration, system suitability, and troubleshooting.
Strong communication & interpersonal skills.

Education Minimum Requirement:
PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Analytical Chemistry or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years relevant postdoctoral or pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience.

Required Experience and Skills:
Knowledge and direct experience with state - of - the - art technologies and methods for mass spectrometry-based proteomics, including Thermo Orbitrap mass spectrometers.
Proficiency in quantitative proteomics techniques SILAC, Tandem Mass Tag (TMT), label-free quantification approaches and peptide fragmentation methods.
Proficiency in using Proteome Discoverer, Peaks, Genedata, MaxQuant, Skyline, and other DB search engine tools.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
Biologics characterization using mass spectrometric methods (PTMs/glycosylation, intact and subunit mass analysis).
Understanding and working knowledge of various analytical methods for protein characterization such as SEC, IEX, RP – HPLC, CE-SDS.
