method export error dawn dufield  2020-05-22 18:47

Hi.

do you know what would cause this error. We have the analyst configuration in simulation mode and seems to be able to open the methods properly. This same skyline file can be exported on a different computer with analyst. So it feels like an analyst config issue, but seems like it should work.

any suggestions

That really looks like a bug in the Analyst libraries which Skyline relies on to do the method export. I have pointed our contact at SCIES to this thread. Hopefully, we will get some idea of what they think on this support thread soon.

In the meantime, it is often good to try other computers with the same files and other files on the same computer to try to understand whether it is a problem specific to particular computer and installation of Analyst or something particular to your template file or the transitions Skyline is trying to export into the method.

You can, of course, also try File > Export > Transition List to see if you can get transition lists which you can then manually import into your template method inside the Analyst user interface.

Thanks for posting this to the support board. Let us know, if you make any progress in understanding the boundaries of when this happens while we are waiting for a response from SCIEX.

Hi,

Do you have the MultiQuant method option checked? From Dave Cox:
"I think they have the checkbox to create qmethods selected. It is complaining about creating a MultiQuant method, which I don’t think they are using. If they uncheck that option, I hope the acquisition method creation will work fine."

Thanks,
Kaipo

Dave Cox has sent this potential fix:

"It is very likely that Dawn is using this on a computer with both Analyst and SCIEX OS installed. To enable compatibility with older LIMS connectivity software, SCIEX OS will impersonate Analyst under some scenarios.

Most likely, shutting down SCIEX OS while using Skyline for method building will fix this issue."

Would you mind seeing if that resolves the issue?

Thanks,
Kaipo
